Says the Butterfly
Today I wanted to write something this or that
So I went to the green grass, on which I happily sat,
On that soft grassy bed
Came with all blue and red
One butterfly,
Did not know what she wanted to try,
Where did she come from
Or how far was her home
I did not know,
Perhaps she came for a special show.
When I was thinking about all these in my mind
“I want to tell you something”, somebody said from behind.
Pat I turned to see, my my
It came from the butterfly
And she spoke to me,
And she looked sad as far as I could see,
To hear her and to understand
I took her on my hand
Asked her soft but clear,
“You can tell me anything my dear”.
With lots of pain in her voice, the butterfly said
“Human beings sad and sorry, have we ever made!
Then why do you now and then
With a whim and disdain
Break our homes and heart,
Don’t you think what happens after that,
If we all the butterflies
Saying our last goodbyes
Go away for ever,
You may cry but we would come back never.”
Sprinkling some brilliant colours the butterfly cried
Wanted to say some more so then she again tried,
“If today all of us go
With the pain and sorrow
Finally for good,
You would know how much we meant, you would,
All the colours would be gone
Nature would be forlorn
You know it is true,
Should it be done by the men like you!
You are taking away lands, mountains and the forests
Burning homes, burning people, burning all those bests,
What are you gaining in this
What happens if you do miss
It’s a play of pain,
At the end you get it back again,
We say, you still have got time
Stop this game and stop this crime
In the search of joy,
This game only knows how to destroy.
We are here, the colours are here and love is here too
Harming all these what do you think you do!
That’s why we say this is right
With the colours will bring light
We the butterflies,
If you can control your mind, off the evil flies,”
When the butterfly finally stopped
My heart was burnt and chopped
At least hundred times,
That’s why today I failed to write the rhymes. |
